As expected, Luke vs Galient. What wasn't expected? Galient uses Fusion.

His Fusion is Drilling Mandrill + a manga original monster, Drill Bird. It can switch 2 monsters to Defense Position, then attack twice, and inflicts piercing damage.

I guess it's understandable that they'd want to debut Fusion in the manga at this point, since the OCG is on a Fusion frenzy at the moment, but I'm curious to see how they'll treat it in the manga. It definitely feels a bit underwhelming that Fusion apparently will lose at its very debut.

EDIT: A better view of Galient's Fusion.

Luke wins with Gaigias.

OW Fusion was a surprise. I'm expecting they will use this arc to focus on maximum because Asana, but I liked how the manga is changing somethings to be more imprevisible.

Well the manga didn't really explain how Rook got a Maximum either, so I think we're expected to just go with "Well they have it because it already exists".

They did, actually. It was a whole thing that started still in Maguro's chapter. They found a mysterious treasure box, which is the reason Sorako went after Luke, too. And that box had the blank ID cards Neiru was using to awaken a new Summoning or something. I don't remember the details, but they did explain it. Was it good? Now, that's a whole another subject. Cookie Monster

According to what little I understood from Peperoncino's summary, there's some plot around Fusion, too (which's the least I'd expect tbh, even for a manga that's been as lazy as this one).

Thanks for the RAWs as always, Zane!

So, about Fusion. First things first. Jango and Galient begin quarreling about something like Jango being no longer president of the Student Council, and him claiming that the election was not fair. They decide to settle it in a duel, but Jango says the opponent will be Luke (omg lord why).

Mid-duel, Yuga suddenly appears with that costume, claiming not to be Yuga, but "Yugan, the Grim Reaper Doctor", and ordering Galient to use "that card' to defeat Luke (insulting Luke, even). Jango recognizes him as the person who spread "that card" into Goha 6th, and apparently used that to gain votes for the election of Student Council President. Then chapter ends with Luke confronting "Yugan".

So, this is a very unexpected development, and I'll say it's somewhat interesting. I was actually long tired of monthly random excuses for Luke to duel, so it's great to see something actually interesting happen for once. Looking forward to what Yuga's motives are. Also, how dope is manga Yuga for having created Fusion? Lol.
